2024 — Birth of the Digital ID Wallet

The second beast was given power to give breath [life] to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. Convenience Leads to Adoption of Digital ID Wallet

On-board a customer to a digital service
Sign a business contract

HR departments will be able to verify quickly the identity of a job candidate and authenticate any documents they submit to support their applications. They can also insert payslips into the wallet app.

Jesus Returning in 2033?

Is Jesus Returning in 2033? While researching the underworld and Hell for my latest pirate novel, Down to Davy Jones, I came across these End Time warnings from Jesus in the book of Matthew—and later when Jesus, on his throne, opens the seven seals. Turns out according to Jesus it will get a lot worse—and maybe sooner than we’d like.

Only the Lamb Jesus is worthy of opening the seals and launching the events that follow. When we overlay Matthew 24 with Revelation 6 we get a compact summary of how events might play out in the years ahead.

EVENTS

Lies Trump Truth—Time Becomes Compressed—Changes Come Quickly”

“Watch out that no one deceives you,” Jesus says. “For many will come in my name (representing Jesus) claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ (and perhaps ‘I am with the Messiah’) and will deceive many.” (Matthew 24:4-5) “Many false prophets (teachers, preachers, leaders—a person chosen to speak for God and to guide the people) will appear and deceive many people.” (Matthew 24:11) For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” — Jesus (Matthew 24:24) “But for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.” (Matthew 24:22)

One example of how lies trump truth comes from judicial rulings. Recently California’s Third District Court of Appeals ruled that bees are fish. In education some teachers now teach men can get pregnant. Such false teachings and proclamations will increase with a proliferation of signs and wonders of demon spirits that go out among the whole world. (Revelation 16:14). Does this mean Jesus Returning in 2033?

White Horse—First Seal: Global War

“Before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.” (Revelation 6:2)

“Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.” (Matthew 24:7)“

Wars and conflict began soon after Adam’s fall and continue to this day, but with the opening of the First Seal global conflicts will escalate.

Red Horse—Second Seal: Revolts, Riots, Protests, Conflict

“Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other.” (Revelation 6:4)

“At that time many will betray and hate each other.(Matthew 24:10) Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. (Matthew 24:12) You will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death. You will be hated by all nations because of me. (Matthew 24:9)

From mass shootings to genocide to the killing of infants, each year our culture becomes increasingly toxic and hate-filled. Love is called hate and hate is called love. Watch for this trend to continue.

Black Horse—Third Seal: Famines, Inflation, Scarcity

“Before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!” (Revelation 6:5-6) Does this mean Jesus Returning in 2033?

“There will be famines in various places. These are the beginning of birth pains.” (Matthew 24:7-8)

“Compounding the damage from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russian invasion of Ukraine has magnified the slowdown in the global economy, which is entering what could become a protracted period of feeble growth and elevated inflation, according to the World Bank’s latest Global Economic Prospects report. This raises the risk of stagflation, with potentially harmful consequences for middle-and low-income economies. The recovery from the stagflation of the 1970s required steep increases in interest rates in major advanced economies, which played a prominent role in triggering a string of financial crises in emerging market and developing economies.” – worldbank.org

Pale Horse—Fourth Seal: Death by Disease, Starvation, Murders, Wars, and Beasts

“There before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague (a contagious bacterial disease characterized by fever and delirium and sometimes infection of the lungs) and by the wild beasts of the earth.”

From January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021 the COVID-19 pandemic caused approximately 14.9 million deaths. COVID killed a mere 0.75% of the world’s population. Consider what would happen if a quarter of the world’s population were killed over the next decade.

Sixth Seal—Heavenly Calamity

“He opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.” (Revelation 6:12-13)

“Immediately after the distress of those days . . .

“‘the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'” — Jesus (Matthew 24:29)

Not saying any of this will happen right away. Simply suggesting that reading the Scripture can be a great way to get ideas for a novel—and plan for life after this life.

Look for China to Be the Leader in the Future of Money

“While the US Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank and Bank of Japan ‘study’ the mechanics of issuing a new form of cash, China has pulled ahead and has been testing its digital Yuan since April 2020.” – AsiaMoney

China comes at digital currency without the promise of anonymity but from the over-reaching surveillance of state-run accounts. Global chief investment officer at Deutsche Bank, Christian Nolting, wrote in a report on crypto-currencies published in April: China “could complement, or displace, increasingly widely used private-sector crypto-currencies.”

In other words, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, and Binance Coin, would remain fringe players while China’s Yuan dominates global currencies.

Former CIA analyst Yaya Fanusie, now a digital currency expert and an adjunct senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security, points to the recent example of Swedish fashion retailer as an example of how China might deal with those who step out of line. When H&M expressed concern over China’s use of forced labour in cotton production in the Xinjiang region, China pulled H&M products from their sites and mobile apps. NPR reported, “Two Chinese celebrities have already severed deals with the Swedish brand. Chinese state media outlets are now calling out other Western clothing brands — including Nike, New Balance and Burberry — for not using Xinjiang cotton. ‘Pure and flawless Xinjiang cotton cannot allow any forces to smear or blacken it,’ a Chinese commerce ministry spokesperson said.”

But former director of the digital currency institute at the People’s Bank of China, Yao Qian, claims surveillance is not the intent a digital Yuan. At the International Finance Forum in Beijing on May 30, Bloomberg news reported that Yao told a panel, “Helping the government see all transactions in real time was not the intention of the Chinese central bank.”

Still, data and information would be accessible in real time. Each transaction would reveal the location of the account holder and their purchase. We do not need a Jerry Jenkins / Tim Lahaye novel series to envision how this might play out on a world stage.

Young Adults Drop Support for Israel

Perhaps you can quote the passage: I have loved Jacob, but Esau I have hated (Malachi 1:2-3) and so you stand with Israel no matter what. “God said it; that settles it.” The “it” in this case are prophesies regarding Israel. (And oh how we Christians love prophesies—why it’s our very own virtual future reality game.)

For the Lord has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his own possession. (Psalm 135:4)

The Lord said to Abram, “I will make of you a great nation [Israel], and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12:1-4)

Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. (Luke 21:24)

All the nations of the earth will gather against Jerusalem. On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who lift it will surely hurt themselves. (Zechariah 12:3)

I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured. Then the Lord will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights on a day of battle. On that day his feet [Jesus] will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south. (Zechariah 14:1-4)

After World War 2 and the horror of The Holocaust, sticking by Israel seemed to be the patriotic thing to do, but now across the world, and now even in the U.S., support for Israel is declining. “It seems that the Israeli government’s decision to abandon large segments of the liberal, progressive Democratic public and gamble only on the Evangelicals might end up costing us dearly,” said Dr. Yoav Fromer, head of the Center for the Study of the United States at Tel Aviv University.

In a 2018 survey, 75% of American Evangelicals supported Israel. And yet even among American Evangelicals 18-29 years old, support for Israel dropped. Dr. Motti Inbari of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, points out that those in the survey who support Palestinians had more political reasons.

“They were less supportive of Israel but not because they are less religious, but because young Evangelicals don’t look at political issues the same way. It’s a generational divide.”

In fiscal year 2019, the United States provided Israel with $3.8 billion in military aid. Israel also benefits from around $8 billion in American loan guarantees. Israel’s annual budget is 387.717 billion. America’s financial support is around 3%. Should the U.S. pull funds Israel’s finances would take a hit but not a substantial blow. The bigger issue is our military support and shared military information. Were the U.S. become a foe rather than an ally, Israel would stand alone against the world.

The prudent sailor watches the wind and swells and keeps a weather eye out for squalls. If you squint through the binocs you can see clouds gathering on the horizon.

How Did I Do on Forecasting the Second Coming of Jesus by 2033

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. May Still Be Hailed as a Prophet

In January of 2019, during an event honoring Martin Luther King Jr., Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) cautioned the audience that climate change would “destroy the planet” by the year 2031.

“Millennials and people, you know, Gen Z and all these folks that will come after us are looking up and we’re like: ‘The world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?’” Ocasio-Cortez told interviewer Tanehisi Coates at an “MLK Now” event in New York.

On June 5, 2019 I speculated how the representative from New York’s 14th congressional district might, in fact, be hailed as a prophet should Jesus return by 2033. Nearly two years into Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez proclamation (to be clear, she was not prophesying), let’s see how a possible roadmap I laid out for the return of Jesus has performed.

* Democratic nominee locked in by May of 2020.
✔️ Took until mid summer but by May President Biden had asserted himself as the presumptive nominee, besting Senator Bernie Sanders.

* June 2020 polls show Democratic nominee leading Trump in key battleground states Trump needs to win to be re-elected. (Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Pennsylvania). Polls show troubling numbers for him Texas and Arizona. In Iowa, New Hampshire, Ohio, North Carolina and Arizona the president and the Democratic nominee are polling even.
✔️ The 2020 election proved much closer than many in the mainstream media anticipated, but in general President Biden performed as expected.

* By July stock market reacts and begins to slide as cautious investors plan for the possibility of a President who promises huge taxes on corporations, small businesses, and the wealthy.
X Wrong by miles. The stock market continues to soar.

* Ahead of forthcoming tax law changes, large corporations and the rich begin moving jobs offshore and wealth out of the country.
X Wrong. Despite President Biden’s proposed tax hikes on the rich and corporations, wealth in the country remains and companies have not moved. . . yet.

* By August of 2020 US economy dips into a recession. Unemployment jumps.
✔️ Check, but for the wrong reasons. COVID caused a contraction of the economy. Unemployment increased but the government dolled out lots of money to ease hardship.

* Democrat wins election in November 2020 by promising:
✔️ Check. Open boarders for everyone
✔️ Check. Universal child care for everyone living in America
✔️ Check. Free college for everyone living in America
✔️ Check. Guaranteed income for everyone living in America
✔️ Check. Reparations for descendants of slaves and LGBT persons
✔️ Check. Affordable housing for everyone living in America
✔️ Check. Free medicare for everyone living in America

* 3 months into new president’s first term, Democratic Congress cuts military spending to pay for promised social programs.
X Wrong. No cuts in military spending. Instead, the Pentagon announced new policies enabling transgender people to serve in the military

* July 2021 US economy plunges into a depression.
X ✔️ So far it does not appear that we’re heading into a depression. The government is printing money to pay for all the gifts given during COVID. Inflation is rising, but no one seems too concerned.

Other predicted events unfolded sooner, but for different reasons.

* Spring of 2022 crime in most cities is out of control. Martial law takes affect in large towns. Things become chaotic with the military, police, and home guards staking out their turf.
✔️ Check – sort of. Crime in some cities is out of control. Rioting is now expected anytime someone of color is shot by law enforcement. (And to be clear, this happens way too often.) Some in Congress continue to call for the end of the military, prisons, and police, but for now they represent a tiny minority of those in office. The trend, however, is for more rioting and oversight of law enforcement.

I did not account for COVID and a global pandemic, or a nation so divided that those in urban areas wear masks and get vaccinated while those in rural areas reject government advice–and in some cases government orders.

I did not account for a nation splintering along racial, cultural, religious lines. It seems each week a new fissure appears. Within politics the Republican party remains divided over former President Trump, while the Democrats seem to be conflicted over whether to fully embrace socialism or try to hang onto some measure of capitalism. Sports fans can no longer simply pull for their team. Now they must decide if the team’s players, coaches, and owners subscribe to the “right” belief. The Methodist denomination seems headed for a split over the issue of gender and if the Bible is the word of God or man, while the Southern Baptist Convention faces headwinds over the issue of gender roles and if the Bible is the word of God or man.

In the Revelation of Christ the angel tells John the Disciple, “The waters which you saw are peoples and multitudes, and nations and languages.” (Revelation 17:15-17) The Psalmist say, “Who stilled the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations.” (Psalm 65:7) Jesus said, “On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea (peoples). People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world.” (Luke 21:25-26)

We’re not there, yet. We may not be close to there, yet. But we’re closer than we were yesterday.

In 1535, William Tyndale, who translated the first English Bible, was arrested and jailed in the castle of Vilvoorde (Filford) outside Brussels for over a year. In 1536, he was convicted of heresy and executed by strangulation. Afterwards his body was burnt at the stake.

The first coming of Christ was destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel. His death led the falling and rising of many in the world. If you’re a writer with the Holy Spirit within you, write now, write fast, and write what God places on your heart. The day is coming, and perhaps soon, when those who write for God’s glory are banned from publishing their words in print, ebook, or even online.
